    Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, International-Matex Tank Terminals (IMTT) is an industry leader in the handling and storage of bulk liquid products through its ownership and operation of 19 terminals throughout North America. The terminals handle petroleum, biofuels, commodity/specialty chemicals, and vegetable/tropical oil products for customers including refiners, commodities traders and chemical manufacturers and distributers.


    The E&I Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning, executing, and recording periodic maintenance and repair on terminal electrical equipment and instrumentation in a computerized maintenance program. This position will be onsite at our Geismar Terminal Facility.


    • The person filling this role will be required to perform hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all terminal equipment.
    • In addition, this position will also assist the Operations and Drumming Departments as required.
    • This position reports to the E&I Lead Technician and will regularly coordinate with other Maintenance Technicians as well as other Departments.


    Educational Requirements:

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Preferably, Diploma from Industrial E&I Trade School or equivalent 


    Job Requirements and/or Preferences:

    1. At least 5 years of experience in industrial setting. This requirement can be waived by IMTT depending on educational background and/or other occupational experience.
    2. General experience in maintenance, electrical and instrumentation in a chemical manufacturing or storage facility.
    3. Must be computer proficient.
    4. This job requires strenuous activities and heavy lifting in an outdoor environment (i.e. walking rough terrain, climbing stairs and ladders on 80 foot high tanks, lifting 50 lbs on a routine basis).
    5. Capable of participating in the terminal emergency response organization and wearing a SCBA and other chemical PPE.
    6. Valid driver's license (will drive a company vehicle)
